Entanglement is a series of paintings that was shown in a solo exhibition at DiPietro Todd in San Francisco in 2016. The series takes as its starting point the concept of quantum entanglement, in which particles remain connected though separated by vast distances. In these pieces, subjects are distorted, superimposed, and interwined with one another and themselves. Techniques of multiple exposure and transparency allow identity, time and space to be viewed as fluid and transitory. The paintings have one foot in contemporary fashion and culture and one foot in a mythic realm, positing that these two spaces exist in tandem.
